Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
How are training hours counted for direct caregivers as it relates to the Texas
Service System?
Answer:
The training records of selected direct caregivers (during the current calendar or
fiscal year) are the primary source of information to determine compliance with the
various training indicators. If training records do not support sufficient training
hours for a caregiver during the current year, then YFT would examine the
employee's previous year's record of training. If that particular caregiver had
adequate training hours for the previous year, and there is an established written
training plan to support training hours for the current year, that caregiver would
be determined to have met the training requirement.
